Spencer is currently in Colorado Springs, CO at the Olympic Training Center with the rest of Team USA’s wrestlers. The camp will include technique and recovery sessions, and film review for all athletes. Spencer is accompanied by his training partner, Pat Lugo, and coaches, Tom Brands and Daniel Dennis. The Mini-camp runs about a week and then all athletes will head back to their respectful training environments prior to the Games.
July 22 is the departure date for our American wrestlers. Spencer will have his final training phase in France leading up to the Games. We are sending multiple training partners and coaches to ensure Spencer has everything he needs to be fully prepared to bring home that GOLD!
Lee competes on August 8th and 9th. Sessions start at 11:00 am and 6:15 pm local time (4:00 am & 11:15 am CT) each day. Please fill out this Interest Form if you would like us to organize a Watch Party Event for the Olympic Games!
You’ll be able to watch the Olympics on NBC, its cable network channels, and its streaming channel Peacock.
We have a large group of Hawks traveling to Paris to watch Spencer live at the Games. If you are also interested in attending the Olympics in person, we recommend getting your flights, hotel reservations, and tickets as soon as possible. Tickets can be purchased through this certified Olympic Resale Site. Make sure you get both the morning and afternoon sessions on each day you plan on attending!
The USAW Cadet and Junior National Championships are this month (July 12-20) in Fargo, ND where some of the most sought-after recruits will be competing for freestyle and greco national championships. Assistant coach Ryan Morningstar will be there to help coach Team Iowa and keep an eye out for future Hawks!
Ben Kueter (97kg) is set to compete at the U20 World Championships in Pontevedra, Spain on September 6-7, 2024. While Patrick Kennedy (79kg) is gearing up for the U23 World Championships on October 26-27, 2024 in Tirana, Albania.
The Non-Olympic Weight Class (61kg, 70kg, 79kg, 92kg) World Championships will be just days after the U23 Championships, held in the same arena on October 30-31, 2024 in Tirana, Albania. USAW Team Trials for this event will likely be held in September but event details have not been released yet. Only non-Olympians can participate in this World Championships and the Trials process.
