Hawkeyes!
The 2022-23 season is officially concluded! What a season! The University of Iowa Wrestling Team has secured a team trophy (fourth or better) for the 14th time in the last 15 NCAA Championships. The Hawkeyes have won 14 team trophies in head coach Tom Brands’ 16 seasons and have 48 NCAA trophies and 68 top 10 finishes in program history. Iowa has finished as the NCAA runner-up seven times. And our legacy continues to build!
We are so proud of our team and the work they put in, not only this year but their entire careers building up to this point. Our team is never satisfied and you will surly see many of them competing this summer trying to make age-level world teams!
The US Open is later this month in Las Vegas, NV. We will have all our HWC guys competing in the Senior Freestyle division and a handful of undergrads scraping in the U20 Freestyle division. Seniors wrestle on Thursday & Friday, April 27th & 28th, while the U20’s are on Saturday & Sunday, April 29th & 30th! All our matches can be streamed on Flowrestling.org.
Guys to look out for: Austin DeSanto 61kg, Patricio Lugo 65kg, Jayden Eierman 70kg, Kaleb Young 74kg, Alex Marinelli 79kg, and Kyle Summers 86kg.
Not only will many of our University guys be competing in Vegas, but we will likely be sending several guys to U23 Freestyle – World Team Trials on June 3rd & 4th in Geneva, OH.
We are currently working on bringing you more 50 Year Anniversary graphics, merchandise, and content! We only celebrate our 50th once, so everything we put out is limited edition and won’t be replicated!
